Hey, this is Ash!
No longer studying Geography in London, I have moved back home to Hong Kong after spending five years in the UK.
This blog started with an aim to record my ‘new Londoner’ experience since I started university in 2014, while to also give local insider travel tips about Hong Kong. Something along the lines of ‘a foodie’s tale in two cities’ would sum up my original goal for this space (more on food later).
But three years later, it has become so much more than that.
Delicacy of a Unicorn has become part of me somehow. It has become THE space where I can let all my thoughts out freely. It has become where I can talk about my travels, my worries, how I see the world around me, and everything else in between.
But why a travel blog? Because I have always loved travelling (without knowing) ever since I travelled with my parents for the first time when I was two years old, to the UK. My childhood consisted of homework, piano lessons, art classes, swimming classes (which I absolutely hated), but also annual trips to Europe mostly every summer, and that’s how I began to develop a curiosity about the world around me, as well as an awareness and appreciation for different cultures. And I have been fortunate enough to have travelled quite a bit in the last few years, so I thought I’ll share my experience here!
Travelling aside, I love food, and I take every single meal very seriously. You’ll see a fair amount of food pics on my Instagram, like us millennials do, we take pictures of our food before we eat (Psst – here are my 5 F&B recommendations for Hong Kong, check them out here!). So, that’s that. I also enjoy reading, and occasionally I might put some book recommendation here too!
Thanks for stopping by! You can check out my favourite post here.
